I've forgotten what it was....

I wanted to pop in and say Thank You to krossero and slipperieslope for my Snowflake cookies such a nice surprise. Thank You again..

I know I have been away from lj for a while. RL has gotten me big time the past couple of months.
I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks, once I got back I hit the floor running. I haven't stopped yet. Very busy trying to get a quilt finished someone asked me to make for them as a Christmas gift. Having hurt my neck and back pretty bad. I can only sew or sit at the computer for very short periods at a time, hurts way too much to push it.
I have had a very sick horse, where I was nearly sleeping out in the stables with her for a couple of nights. But after a long time of being sick she is doing much better. Will never be 100% as she has Cushings but she is better.

I am keeping up with all on lj. Just not for now, doing much talking.

I cannot believe, it has been one year since my Mum passed away... I have always loved this photo I took, just before Christmas a couple of years ago. She really loved every thing about Christmas. Miss you so much...

Today I said to hell with housework,gardening and cooking. I haven't really sat down at my sewing machine in a while. So today I finished the top of this quilt, I have been working on for a while. Hubby always asks when one is finished too this point. Who's this one for? No one! I just wanted to see what this pattern looked like when made up.

Garett's coming back to the UK in 2010

They say that third time's the charm.

GMOH are pleased to announce that the very charming Mr. Garett Maggart will be returning to England for the third time in 2010 to meet with you all in the second city, Birmingham, for one weekend of fun and frivolity.

You are all cordially invited to attend.

At this moment in time we can tell you that the gathering will be sometime in September or October 2010 and that we hope to keep the cost the same as last time at £250.00. To assist us in our forward planning we would like your help with two things:

a) Please email Rae on rae2412@aol.com to let her know if you have serious intentions about attending. Don't send any money, just a 'yes I'll be there' will do for now.

b) If you have any ideas about what you would like to have happen that the gathering - and keep it clean people - then why not let us know and we will see what can be done?

So there we are. They said it couldn't be done. Now they know better! See you all in 2010.

Sunday Lunch

This was the pub where we stopped for lunch.

These next few photos are for snailbones as she likes clouds.
This is another storm that rolled in across the old homestead. The first photo is as it came in from the south, rolled over my bird shed the last photo shows it over the top of my stables which are on the north side of the house. Beautiful but a little scary wondering what we were in for.
Again they did nothing while here...

This first photo was taken in one of my stables. I have nests in all three of my stables. These are the first babies to show themselves so far, in the stables.

This one was taken in my hay barn. I have about 4 nests in here, so I leave the door open all summer until about end of September early October when they have all flown back to Africa.

Former home secretary David Blunkett is returning to work after breaking a rib when he was charged by a cow.
The blind MP will attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party when it is expected Prime Minister Gordon Brown will be grilled about his future.
Mr Blunkett was said to be in pain after the cow charged at his trusted guide dog Sadie while he was out walking in Derbyshire's Peak District on Saturday, which was his 62nd birthday.
He tried to protect Sadie, a black Labrador-cross, but in the melee fell to the ground and was trampled by the cow.
Mr Blunkett told the Sun: "I let go of Sadie and she shot off. But the next thing I knew, I'd stumbled to the ground and the animal fell over, too.
"She hit my side and broke my rib. Had her full weight of around a ton hit me, I'd have been a goner.

Mr Blunkett's fiancee, GP Margaret Williams, took him to a specialist to be checked.

Crop Circle

A spectacular crop circle shaped like a jellyfish has appeared on farmland in Oxfordshire.

Jellyfish crop circle appears in field .The 250m (600ft) design, which turned up in a field near Ashbury last week, is believed to be the first of its kind in the world.

Crop circle expert Karen Alexander said: "We have seen butterfly and bird patterns in the past, but this is the first jellyfish crop circle in the world.

"It is absolutely huge - roughly three times the size of most crop patterns and extremely interesting. People have been aghast at the size of it. It is a complete monster.

"We are looking into the meaning of it, but at present it just seems to have appeared out of nowhere."

The owners of the land say whoever created the design caused about £600 of damage - but they called the shape "beautiful" and say they have reported the trespassers to the police.

They have this really nice area where second world war service men are buried.So many were from Australia,New Zealand,Canada.

My last two just because they turned out so well.

I was taking photo of an empty field, then I had cow's.

We know the police do not want us who ride bikes on the roads. But this is going a little far. If you read the story, it tells about a guy sending a text while speeding up the M1 he slams into another car killing it's driver. He received less of a sentence than this kid did, for accidentally dropping sweets out of his pocket.

I once again have a quilt for auction. This time no photo's but you do get to choose which you would like Blue or Coral.

This was our Police Station for many years, it's now our Court House.

Busy Friday

Had a pretty busy day. First we had to go over to Peterborough Cambridgeshire
For a little shopping so decided to go on the bike as it was a lovely sunny day. By the time we were heading home had a force nine gale blowing. Not such a good thing on a bike especially when a truck goes past the other way, it really can rock your world that’s for sure.
We made it home fine. I always go out to check on my horse as soon as I get home. Found she had a shoe half off, so then had to turn around and play blacksmith and take the shoe off before she did too much damage to her foot. The blacksmith always makes it look so easy. But easy it’s not. They are so strong, so much could go wrong but managed to get it off with a bit of a struggle. Thank goodness she was in a good mood today or I would have been in trouble.
I had planned on getting my Tomato plants out into the greenhouse today. I got as far as getting the greenhouse ready and the large pots filled that I like to grow them in. But the Tomato plants are still in the house this evening, so looks like a job for tomorrow now.
Must admit my back really aches tonight. I think most of that is from playing blacksmith. Horse's they do tend to lean on you when holding up any of there feet. Think it’s time for a nice glass of red and a sit down maybe watch some TV. I should have both Supernatural and Sanctuary taped from last night.

Taking some time

away from sewing for a couple of weeks, as I have hurt my neck while doing some heavy lifting out in the yard. Having a horse, so much of what you need is heavy. I must of lifted and moved wrong. Anyway all is not lost. I can now spend my time reading some books I have had for a while and didn't want to start reading till I knew I would get them finished, as they are all about 500 pages each.. I am so into the first one can hardly put it down.
The book is called 'Raised by Wolves' by W.A.Hoffman volume one is 'Brethren' so far three in the series are at Amazon, number four is due out some time this year.

Migrating swan's

I saw something last night I have never seen before. What a wonderful site. We had about 40 swans fly over in the 'V' formation heading up north.
I have seen geese coming over in great flocks, but never swan's.
I am guessing they were coming in from Russia.
