My Second Log Cabin - Scraps & Stitches
My Second Log Cabin
block quilt. Yesterday I received the fabric I had been waiting for, so finished this, this morning. I know of 8 other ways you can place these blocks, and have a completely different pattern too the quilt top. Hubby and I decided to redecorate our bedroom. So I needed to make a new quilt, to go with the new colour of the bedroom..

LOL. Yesterday you got the fabric and today the top is done? Man, you are so FAST! It's lovely and the colours are absolutely gorgeous!

The book I made this from is called " Quilt In A Day" but I didn't make it all in one day. I had some blocks made, I then decided to make it bigger, than I first planned. So had to order and wait for some more fabric to arrive, so I could finish it. It took about 2 days, it really goes together fast

Stunning!Someday I'm gonna learn to do that. Right now I can't even find a place to set up my machine to do anything...so I make icons for therapy.
Unfortunately you can't hang them or wear them.*sigh

The book listed below is where I got this pattern from.
It's really easy. If you can sew a straight line anyone can do quilting. This is a great book for a beginner, it shows each stage of putting the top together in pictures.

I used to watch her show all the time. My interests at the time were Daisy Kingdom dresses for my girls and the various outfits I made for the boys. Most of the non wearable things I made were Christmas decorations, stockings, wreaths, table linens etc.
Now I don't see where she's on the air, but books are cool for learning new skills!
Thanks for the rec.

Do you do the actual quilting part on a machine? Your work is just lovely. =>}

I mostly do quilt on the machine. My hands wont take to much hand sewing anymore.
