After all the talk on Sened about spam. I have been having a big problem with spam on one of my email address's for quite a while now, but it is getting out of hand. Yesterday we downloaded a new spam filter program and it is working great! I thought I would see today just how many spam emails I get it a day, mostly about enlarging the male equipment.

Lets see, it is now 6:30pm and so far today I have 75 in my spam filter, and I know before I hit the sack I will have at least 30 more. The only thing I can see to do is, get rid of that email address, which is such a pain but I am so tired of this stuff coming in. I go on vacation in 8 days can't imagine how many emails I will have waiting when I get back, but there is no way to stop them coming in.

The last time I had to change address's. My email provider decided that all my Yahoo groups mail was spam, and I could not get any of the groups messages at all. I talked till I was blue in the face but they said it was reported as spam and that was that..

I don't use my Orange mail because of spam. It only allows you to block 100 addresses and the specific word block doesn't work at all. I recently deleted 6500 spam emails from it and when I went back in just a few days later, I had another 200. I use googlemail as its spam filters are fantastic and it is so easy to use. My solution for Orange mail is to change my ISP - it will be cheaper as well!
Apparently I too have a problem with my male bits, as well as problems with bank accounts I don't have, friends I never knew I had getting back in touch, I obviously need a new watch, I got a job in Sydney I didn't apply for, I can claim $2400 from somewhere, they'll fund me my start in the internet gambling, etc. etc. etc.
Annoying, isn't it?! :o)
Of course, none of this is any help to you.
Good luck with any solution you come up with.

Wow! 6500.I think that is what I will be looking at when I get back from vacation. Plus,I also get from banks I don't have accounts at, friends I never knew, yes watches I don't need or want, money I can claim thought not as much as you,yes internet gambling. but mostly is the male bits.. Boy it gets so old... My problem really started after the Moonridge auction this year. Not sure if there is a connection, but the email address I used on that is the problem one.

We had horrendous probs at work and changed to googlemail in desperation - and it really works well. It was going to be a temporary measure, but a year on we're still using it - the filters seem to work well, plus as it's server-based you don't end up with rubbish on your hard drive. And it's free!

Hope you can sort something out before you go on holiday - there's nothing worse than coming home to 3000 emails for bigger boobs *g*

Hubby found a program called 'SpamBully' ok you have to pay for it, but it works really well. Has specific word block and learns fast. Every once in a while they use a different word for 'penis' todays word was 'shlong' and it has to catch up, but it does after a couple of emails.
If this doesn't take care of the problem I might try googlemail. But the only problem I would have with that is. What if there server goes down do you loose all your mail?

Good point! We've never worried about it because Google is so huge, we're assuming they've got plenty of backups running... plus if it's something you need to keep you can still download it and save it on your hard drive in the usual way. I thought I'd hate it, but now I've got used to it I wouldn't go back to a normal email system.
