How To Do It Right - Scraps & Stitches
How To Do It Right
I have made this runner for one of my sisters. She has redecorated her dinning room and needed a new one to go with her new colours. Boy this was allot of work. So many really small pieces of fabric to sew together. I really like the look of this one.

How to do it wrong.

I was working on this quilt while I was nursing my Mum. I would work on it when I had a few minuets here and there, got the center put together, just had to put the outside borders on. I didn't really pay that much attention, it was just some thing to do to take my mind away for a while. Once I had it all finished and gave it a critical look over, I saw what I had done. Boy did I screw it up. Ok it will still keep you warm. I just cannot believe how I got it so wrong and didn't see it at the time..

The runner is very attractive, but I can't imagine how much work it was! I know the quilt isn't the pattern you wanted but it's still very attractive -- it gives a sense of depth in each of the squares that's unusual and compelling. And I really like the colours!

I thought this would be an easy pattern for me not to get lost in while my head was somewhere else.But I ended up with light where there should of been dark. It's still pretty, but just not right.. I love the colours as well, it's all Christmas fabric..

The runner is very attractive. I really love that quilt, even if you SAY it's wrong. =>}

I was pleased how the runner turned out. Until you start to put things together you never know. The quilt is still quite pretty, it's all Christmas fabric, but just not put together right..

They're both fab. *g* I can guess how you came to get the quilt a bit squiffy - but it adds to the memory of when and why you were doing it, and that's part of what quilts are about, so I guess in a funny sort of way... does that make sense? They're lovely anyway. ::hugs::

It makes allot of sense! As you say many quilts are made as memory quilts. I have good and bad memorys while making this one.

I'm looking at it and thinking, it's very nice and you're saying it's wrong. LOL I still like it. So there. :)
Hugs, Patt
