What!!
We know the police do not want us who ride bikes on the roads. But this is going a little far. If you read the story, it tells about a guy sending a text while speeding up the M1 he slams into another car killing it's driver. He received less of a sentence than this kid did, for accidentally dropping sweets out of his pocket.

See, I've tried turning my head on one side and looking at this with just one eye, and I've tried pinching myself, and I've got up, had a glass of water and come back... and I'm still gobsmacked. ::shakes head:: Just unbelievable.

On the same road near London a high powered car was caught doing 123 MPH in the mid afternoon. He got a slap on the wrist and a small fine. Now 2am one morning a bike was caught doing 130MPH no traffic at all, he got 6 months in jail.
This is the best one by far that I have read about.. STUPID!

I feel really thick; plenty of my friends are bikers, but I had no idea that they're being picked on.

Having said that, there's a road nearby that's a lovely drive - or used to be. Since bikers started using it in groups on Sundays a couple of years ago, it suddenly sprouted dozens of different speed limits and speed cameras. It's a total nightmare to drive on now because it's almost impossible to remember what the speed limit is on whichever bit you're on... it's not as if there's been any terrible accidents or anything. Why the heck can't they just leave the bikers alone? ::grump::

.
The car manufacturers should be protesting -- the idea that their vehicles would be damaged by encountering a few pieces of candy on the road is ridiculous.

And texting at the wheel didn't contribute to the crash? RAGE!!!

I didn't know the coppers had it in for bikers in the UK. Seems odd, particularly in these days of wanting to cut emissions and petrol usage. But it's just outrageous to carry on this way over a few bits of candy, and willfully ignorant and too obviously playing favoritism to let the peer off with a virtual slap on the wrist. Of course, it's the poor victim who was to blame, having gotten drunk and parked on the M1 that way.

You have to blame the drunk some. But if he hadn't been sending a text things would of turned out different.
It's not the first time car verse's bike. On the same road near London a high powered car was caught doing 123 MPH in the mid afternoon. He got a slap on the wrist and a small fine. Now 2am one morning a bike was caught doing 130MPH no traffic at all, he got 6 months in jail.
This is just stupid.
