The first quilt I ever made - Scraps & Stitches
The first quilt I ever made
When you make a quilt, you are when it's finished supposed to give it a name, who knows why but anyway this one I called 'Spot the Mistakes' my Mom always said I was absent they day they were handing out patience. I wanted it finished so I could say 'look what I made'. I had been wanting to make a quilt for a long time. While putting it together it all looked fine to me, was only after it was all finished, I could see all I had done wrong. There are so many things wrong on the quilt. I did have to hand quilt the whole thing, as the machine I had at the time would not take the bulk. Maybe that was because, once again didn't read the instruction book chapter, about not mixing your fabric weights. This I made from dress fabric and Laura Ashley curtain fabric....But I like it anyway.

I knew quilts always seem to have names, but I never realised why. It's very pretty - I love the soft colours - and there might be mistakes, but it looks wonderful. Probably you're the only one who sees anything wrong with it! And that was your first? Wow! ::applauds::

Thank you! I think it's the colours rather than the sewing skills that make this one.
