Planning this years veggie garden - Scraps & Stitches
Planning this years veggie garden
Really hot here again. Man we could use some rain. Had a tractor working the fields at the back and front of the house rotavating them ready for planting. As he was rotavating, that means breaking up all the small lumps till the soil is very fine. So have had these clouds of dust going in all directions making it look like something from the American dust bowl. My car will need washing again that's for sure.. We haven't had rain again for so long. Things should look pretty once the crop starts to ripen as they are planting pumpkins.

My own garden so far is looking pretty lean, I do have allot of plants in the greenhouse ready to go out, so tomorrow I will have to get busy now the dust has settled. For fun this year I am growing some of the giant veg. I remember seeing them at the flower show and this year I found where you could buy the young plants. So have 2 giant pumpkins, 6 giant onions, 2 giant marrows, and 2 giant cabbage. I have always wanted to grow giant veg have no idea if they are good to eat, but just for once who cares.. I still have tomato's, small hot peppers, and sweet peppers in the greenhouse, some pots in pots, butternut squash in pots, and a couple of other kinds of squash in pots on the patio. Also trying to grow some golden beetroot to see what it's like.

It's gone silly-hot hasn't it?

Your garden sounds lovely. I've been holding off planting salad stuff until the frosts have gone, but I reckon it's safe now, but goodness we could use some rain. I'm already having to water like crazy, and I haven't even got that sort of garden!

Mother Nature does a much better job with her watering can. They say maybe next week we might get some rain.
